Summer in full swing

It's already the end of July, where did the Summer go? (oh wait, it was raining--that's where it went!) I'm back from a short bloggie break, I just wasn't feeling it. But, I'm back with lots to share.
First off....Happy Birthday Kolby!!!! Today he is 29...can you believe it?
Love you, hope you have a great day.

Next up, a little peek at our 24th celebration at the Bees game. My dad bought 80 tickets and so we had some close family and friends who joined us where we watched the best firework show I've seen in a long time. (They were trying to make up for the fact that the Bees didn't actually play since the opponent had the swine flu and we got to watch a high school all-star game instead.)

Here we have our little Mr. Robinson. You can't see his hair all spiked up very well, but we think he looks just like that little boy on Meet The Robinsons....(needless to say we got him a much needed haircut yesterday.)

Finally, even though it is getting pretty hot in the afternoons, I still like to take the kids outside for a while so we don't feel trapped in the house. We sometimes go to the little park in our neighborhood, but I don't think Maddax likes the playground, he definitely doesn't like the slides...strange kid! Oh, one last note. We have lived in our house for 3 months now...still seems like yesterday, and we are still adjusting. We've done a few things with the house, getting the yard taken care of has taken most of our effort because it was in pretty bad shape, this isnt' the best comparison photo, but it shows the grass as green instead of yellow, new lights, the garage hinges and some of the flower bed. (I still need to find a tree that grows straight up and only 2' feet wide to put to the left of the front window, know any such tree??)

However, I fell in LOVE with this door yesterday, I've added it to the list of things we want to do to the house (concrete pad next to driveway, conrete stamped curbing, fencing, gazebo...the list doesn't end.) Do you think the door would look okay? Also, I have the handles that match the garage door hinges, do you think we should add the handles or leave them off? I just can't decide....

Wheat!

We met the cousins for family pictures in the wheat field Kolby's grandpa farms. I took a few amateur shots while we were there:
I can't wait to see what our professional photographer (http://abeliaphotography.blogspot.com/) does with the pictures!!! (Thanks Nicole!)

4th of July festivities

We are fortunate to have our families extremely close, but that means holidays are crunched to spend time with both families. We always have a picnic with my family on the afternoon of the 4th...I made this:
People were impressed and it was so easy, I may have to make it a tradition.
After the picnic, we met Kolby's family for the movie "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" in 3-D. It was lots of fun.
The night of the 3rd and 4th we stay in a hotel with Kolby's family so the kids can swim and we can walk to the Stadium of Fire, and most importantly, it only takes 5 minutes to get from the stadium to your bed and call it a night! At the Stadium of Fire we get to sit with Kolby's extended family since his grandparents generously buy us all tickets each year. We were close to the stage and got to see the Jonas Brothers perform. It was a good concert and Hannah was shaking her booty the entire time. Mad loved the fireworks and slept off and on throughout the entire thing.

All in all, we had a great time-thank you everyone!

Temple Open House

The Oquirrh Mountain Temple is currently having an open house through August. On a whim we decided to go...

It is a small temple, but very beautiful and serene inside and out. It is located in Daybreak, which is such a nice community with unique homes and overlooks the Salt Lake Valley.

Afterwards we went to the Pie for dinner.
It was nice to get out on a weeknight as a family, pretty rare, but lots of fun!
