24th Celebrations

On the 24th we did some fireworks at my parent's house:

I went to California for a week and visited the University of Farmers where we went through TONS of info, hopefully it all makes me that much better at my job. It was a great but very long week! Here is me and Professor Burke at the University!

Thankful Thursday

Does it ever just hit you how much you love and cherish someone? Sometimes it just hits me that I am so lucky to have my kids, and they won't be small forever. Their childish features are slowly fading and becoming those of older children. Maddax's hands are losing their baby features. You know how baby hands are a little plump and they have dimples where their knuckles go? He's lost those dimples, his face is looking like a boy and not a baby. Hannah looks like a pre-teen more than a little girl. She has her own sense of style, she's opinionated and she's already correcting me on fact vs. opinion.

Combined they can cause quite a havoc, but I wouldn't trade them. I have so much love for them, and more and more often I just can't get enough of them. I have that sense that someday I'm going to try so hard to remember what it was like to snuggle with them, to remember how they were small enough to sit on my lap; and maybe my fear that they are growing up too fast fuels my gratitude for who they are right now. Either way, words cannot express how much I love them and am grateful that I am lucky enough to be their mom.
